The project team functioned as a single unit, collaboratively managing changes and selecting suitable approaches, enabling most elements to be completed 'right first time'. | |
Successes:
All critical business deadlines were met, with the required relocation taking place in February and March 1997. A £3 million reduction in the initial estimate of works was achieved. Flexible and adaptable facilities were produced, which completely met the needs of the users and have continued to meet their changing needs. No claims or contractual correspondence were produced. The project resulted in about one twentieth of the normal level of paperwork. Getting it 'right first time' saved some 15,000 man-hours and associated materials. An estimated £3-4 million was saved in variations and claims. Final accounts were agreed before project completion. All team partners made a profit. |
